Disney trying new DVC perk, opening top of Bay Lake Tower this summer to members

There is a new perk for Disney Vacation Club Members this summer, you can visit the Top of the World Lounge on top of the Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary resort from July 8 to Aug. 25.

Disney is trying this an an experiment and as long as you are a DVC member who is staying at a Disney-owned and operated hotel on Disney World property, you can check out the view. The lounge is open from 5 a.m. to midnight daily. One of the bonuses is that it offers a view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks, including the soundtrack.

Normally the lounge is only available for the people staying at the resort, but if this works, maybe DVC will open it up for all during various times of the year.

The lounge will be available on a first-come first-serve basis. At least one member in the traveling party must be present and present a room key, which has the DVC Member stamp on it, to gain access.
