Walt Disney Studios is booting a a stop-motion animated film that was in development by director Henry Selick, best known for his work on "Coraline" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
The untitled movie, which was due out in October 2013, means the Walt Disney Co. will book a $50 million write-down for its fiscal fourth quarter, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Disney Chief Financial Officer Jay Rasulon said the write-down would have "a very short fourth-quarter impact," the WSJ reported.
In the fiscal second quarter, Disney took a write-down for the poor performance of the movie "John Carter."
